I don't know if anyone here has been watching, but the last of the ukulele series I did with Matthias Wandel of http://woodgears.ca/ was posted today. Worth checking out to hear a little performance by Go Long(!).

Looks and sounds great.I noticed it was a 12 fret.Better sound? How do you set up the action at the nut and 12th? Similar to guitar specs?

Thanks for the comments.
James, given the body size and where I wanted to place the bridge, 12 frets to the body came closest to the traditional 17" scale length for a tenor uke. I talked to Danielle about having a longer scale length to get more frets clear but she saw no point as she never plays high on a uke. The action is a little higher than what I do on guitars. I clear the first fret by about .02" and the 12th fret by about .09".

Very nice sounding ukes. I enjoyed looking at your documentation of the finishing process, and your brilliant and elegant jig for drilling the string holes in the bridge. I'm gonna steal that one for my next ukes :)
